The Avonworth School District is a small, suburban, public school district located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Avonworth School District encompasses approximately 11 square miles. The district serves the Boroughs of Ben Avon, Ben Avon Heights and Emsworth and Kilbuck Township and Ohio Township. According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 8,716 people. In 2009, the district residents' per capita income was $27,781 a year, while the median family income was $62,331.〔American Fact Finder, US Census Bureau, 2009〕 According to District officials, in school year 2009-10 the Avonworth School District provided basic educational services to 1,409 pupils through the employment of 122 teachers, 83 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 15 administrators.
